•Experience filing payroll tax returns/ tax payments (The candidate must have a knowledge of and familiarity with payroll tax reporting rules and laws and forms, and know to calculate a gross to net pay check)
Ensures that balanced payroll data is posted to the appropriate general ledger accounts and makes necessary adjustments.
•Reconciles payroll related accounts (liability and expense).
•Assures timely and accurate reporting of payroll taxes.
•Provides required payroll data (including benefit contribution amounts) and requested payments to various third parties. Performs year-end processing including producing and distributing employee annual wage statements.
•Researches complaints/problems of varying complexity from internal and external customers and provides timely and effective resolution to identified problems and issues (reports and payments that do not balance, incorrec tW-2's, etc.). Participates in and coordinates internal and external audits of payroll tax data and records.
•Provides notification to bank ofvoided and off-cycle checks.
•Knowledge of general ledger and reconciliation processes, automated payroll processing and systems (SAP preferred), company accountingpractices and related procedures. Knowledge of federal, state and localpayroll tax regulations. General knowledge of MS Office products, with advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database functionality. Detailoriented. Excellent communication skills.
•Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in related field, such asfinance or tax.
•Minimum 5 years experience in payroll tax accounting andreporting activities. APA Certification desired.
