Job Description

Job Title: Atlassian Engineer
Duration: 6 months (Extension and conversion for right fit)
Location: Manhattan, NY

• The transformation program office is seeking an Atlassian engineer to join the technology team within the TPO to help shift the team into an increasingly agile operating model in order to accelerate the transformation program.

• Administer and support Atlassian services (primarily JIRA, but Confluence, and Bitbucket as well) for primarily internal users
• Identify new technologies and opportunities based on industry advances in agile development and strategic planning
• Onboard new users to the platform, creating training as necessary to facilitate enablement
• Partner with business and technology teams to implement Atlassian-based solutions to meet their goals, developing tailored solutions as necessary including custom plugins and workflows
• Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our Atlassian services, managing the deployment, security, and permission models
• Continuously update and improve the service based on industry best practices

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience managing the Atlassian stack to achieve high availability and security requirements
• Able to navigate technical architecture and design topics, particularly integration of Atlassian and related technologies within a complex enterprise architecture
• Experience configuring JIRA schemas, complex workflows, and role-based access control
• Experience automating workflows using one or more of the following development languages: Python, JavaScript, Perl, Java, SQL
• Able to comfortably manage more simultaneous threads than most
• Interest in adapting new technologies to continuously improve processes & tools
• Strong attention to detail; able to dive into granular detail and still step back to view the broad picture
• Comfort with ambiguity; the ability to find the correct path given limited guidance
• Strong communication & presentation skills
• 3-5 years as a systems engineer within a high integrity, and/or regulated environment (government, healthcare, financial sectors)
• Experience leading software development, systems, or infrastructure engineering teams
• Demonstrated innovation, creativity and an entrepreneurial mindset
• Ability to travel, including out of state and internationally
