Job Description

Job Title: Residential Loan Processor
Duration: 14 Months
Location: San Diego, CA, 92121
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00pm

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Retail Loan Processing Supervisor.
Extracts daily reports in specific queue for review of the following; credit, sufficient income, asset documentation based on Desktop Underwriter findings and or portfolio guidelines to submit for initial underwriting credit decision.

Major Responsibilities:
Strong working knowledge of residential lending loan documentation products, policies and standard industry guidelines.
Communicates and corresponds with Mortgage Consultants and other business partners regarding the flow process of loan applications. This consisting of emails, face to face or telephone contact.
Ensures application and the supporting documents meet minimum Toll Road guidelines for underwriting submission.
May be required to perform office support functions in a high volume environment for both internal and external customers.
Set up and prepare spreadsheets for various inter-departmental colleagues on daily and or weekly basis.
Sent daily email to sales partner with Toll Road results.
Order and/or canceling 3rd party services when necessary during the Toll Road process.
Review customer documents supplied, such as paystubs, bank statements and W2’s. Also review credit reports & Desktop Underwriting findings.
Prepare and send NOI’s. Follow up on NOI expirations. Prepare loan for HMDA review when deemed necessary.

Job Requirements

Requires recent direct residential loan processing experience of 1 - 2 years and be able to accurately manage a specific product roll function.
Familiarity with Desktop Underwriting and the system to run automated underwriting engine. Strong knowledge of reading Desktop Underwriting conditions/findings.
Ability to review company portfolio guidelines/requirements.
Excellent organization and time management skills with attention-to-detail. Able to multi-task while focus on date timelines.
Understanding of Regulation B and various mortgage banking guidelines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with Ms Outlook/calendar/tasks/follow-up and Excel, with the preparation and reading of reports. Capable of sorting, filtering and viewing necessary data.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Ability to recognize inconsistencies, insufficient information and or data supplied.
Able to work independently or within a team environment while meeting timeline expectations.
