Position Title: HR Specialist III/Total Rewards Business Partner
Duration: 06 Months Contract 
Location: North Chicago, IL  60064 - Hybrid - Monday/Friday Remote & Tuesday – Thursday Onsite
Pay Range: $35.00 to $38.00 per hour 
 
Top 3–5 Skills Needed for the Role
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (Pre-test required): Expert-level proficiency with Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, SUMIFS, AVERAGEIFS, and complex Excel formulas. Candidates should be an Advanced Excel SME.
  • Advanced competency in Excel is required. Experience with HRIS systems (such as Workday or HRSoft) and data analytics/reporting tools (such as Power BI) is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Finance, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience supporting compensation programs, with a demonstrated understanding of broad-based compensation concepts and compensation administration.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets, identify trends, provide actionable insights and recommendations, while maintaining a high level of data accuracy, validation, process consistency, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Summary:

  • As part of the Total Rewards Excellence team the Total Rewards Business Partner (TRBP) is responsible for routine advisory on Total Rewards topics to ensure consistent application of competitive pay practices. The Total Rewards Business Partner will analyze data related to compensation and other reward programs to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
  • Develop compensation offer recommendations for external hires and internal moves in accordance with company practices including recommendations on base salary, incentive programs, sign-on or other cash-based programs to provide a market competitive and internally aligned offer
  • Conduct audits to ensure data accuracy across various HRIS systems leveraged by TR to ensure accurate employee compensation data.
  • Maintain and keep the various TRBP tools accurate and up to date by running and updating necessary reports.
  • Serve as an advisor for routine inquiries from Business Human Resources (BHR) and Talent Acquisition (TA) within established guidelines.
  • Support job evaluations and benchmarking studies to make grade and job code recommendation aligned with company practices maintaining key documentation within the HRIS, benchmarking and case management systems. 
  • Support the execution of various compensation activities including operational support to the annual rewards cycle, compensation recommendations for function specific promotion cycle, survey submissions and establishing the salary structure.
  • Support market and internal benchmarking studies, gathering and synthesizing data from published sources to evaluate competitive market positioning.
  • Assist in other ad hoc Compensation projects and tasks as directed.

Capabilities

  • Advanced competency in Excel including experience with pivot tables and troubleshooting advanced formulas.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends to surface issues and opportunities. Translate findings into actionable insights and recommendations within established guidelines. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, validation, and process consistency.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within interpretive guidelines, take initiative, and perform effectively in a fast-paced constantly changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in HR Management, Business Administration, Finance, Analytics or related field. 
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience supporting compensation programs demonstrable understanding of broad-based concepts and administration
