Job Overview:
- We are seeking an experienced Senior Backed Developer (Level V) to join a high-performing technology team responsible for building and enhancing backend services that support an advisor-facing portal.
- This is a highly hands-on role with an 80% development and 20% technical leadership focus.
- The successful candidate will design and develop scalable RESTful APIs and microservices, define integration patterns and API contracts, and build integrations between Salesforce, Alfresco, and the advisor portal.
- The role will also play a key part in establishing access control and entitlement frameworks from the ground up, while providing technical guidance and mentorship to intermediate developers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
- Define API contracts, integration patterns, and backend architecture for complex enterprise integrations.
- Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce, Alfresco, and advisor-facing applications.
- Design and implement access control, authorization, and entitlement models to ensure secure access to applications and data.
- Develop backend services and APIs that efficiently expose data from multiple source systems to front-end applications.
- Perform SQL development, data mapping, transformation, and integration across enterprise systems.
- Ensure solutions follow clean-code principles, design patterns, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions and contribute to key technology decisions.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive solutions through development, testing, and deployment.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to intermediate developers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and hands-on guidance.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and other technology teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Support continuous improvement of development practices, application performance, reliability, and security.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on backend development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Strong understanding of API contract design and enterprise integration architecture.
- Experience designing and implementing access control, authorization, and entitlement solutions.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in data mapping and integrating data from source systems into APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Azure and cloud-based application development.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, clean code, design patterns, and development best practices.
- Ability to operate effectively in a role that is approximately 80% hands-on development and 20% technical leadership.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to mentor and guide intermediate developers.

- Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise applications.
