About the Opportunity
This is a union position with strong opportunities for career growth. You’ll start as a Hostler Driver on the ground crew and receive on-the-job training. As you successfully complete training and qualify on additional equipment such as lifts and cranes, you can become eligible for pay increases and advancement.
What You’ll Do
- Operate hostler trucks and other yard equipment to move shipping containers
- Connect/disconnect hitches and air hoses
- Perform equipment inspections
- Work around railcars, cranes, and shipping containers
- Follow strict safety procedures
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
What We’re Looking For
- Valid driver's license — CDL is not required
- Comfortable working outdoors in heat, rain, cold, and snow
- Ability to work swing/night shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Ability to climb ladders/stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Outdoor, delivery, forklift, CDL, landscaping, construction, or equipment experience is a plus
There is one onsite interview, and selected candidates will also need to complete the required background and pre-employment drug screening.
This is a direct hire opportunity. The selected candidate will be employed directly by our client.
