Job Summary:
A leading healthcare technology organization is seeking a Scientist II to support sterile liquid pharmaceutical product development. This role focuses on formulation development, manufacturing process development, analytical characterization, and laboratory experimentation for sterile liquid dosage forms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with pharmaceutical formulations, analytical testing, and technical documentation within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct laboratory experiments supporting sterile liquid formulation and manufacturing process development under guidance from project teams.
• Perform analytical and characterization testing to generate scientifically sound data for product development activities.
• Execute formulation development studies involving solutions, emulsions, and suspensions.
• Independently plan, design, and conduct laboratory-scale experiments when required.
• Analyze and interpret technical data using appropriate scientific and statistical approaches.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks.
• Prepare technical reports, summaries, and scientific documentation.
• Present experimental findings and recommendations during project and team meetings.
• Support maintenance, calibration, and operation of laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
• Apply strong scientific problem-solving skills to address formulation and process development challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and timelines.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline with 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• OR Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline with at least 2 years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience in formulation and manufacturing process development for sterile liquid drug products.
• Knowledge of sterile processing techniques, including filtration and autoclaving.
• Hands-on experience with analytical characterization techniques such as pH, osmolality, viscosity, rheology, turbidity, particle sizing, and visual appearance assessments.
• Experience using HPLC and UPLC systems with detectors such as UV, PDA, and RI.
• Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, and statistical analysis software.
• Ability to independently analyze scientific data and prepare technical reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of pharmaceutical development within a regulated environment.
• Experience applying statistical methods to formulation and process development studies.
• Strong presentation and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience maintaining laboratory instruments and troubleshooting experimental issues.

Pay Range: $40/hr to $45/hr
