Billing Collections Lead

- Lead, assign, and monitor the daily work of the Accounts Receivable team, including coaching staff, providing performance feedback, and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
- Oversee daily billing, payment/remittance processing, customer account maintenance, delinquent account procedures, and authorized account adjustments, refunds, and cancellations.
- Coordinate collection activities and manage relationships with third-party partners, including water providers, billing/print providers, and collection vendors, while monitoring service and performance.
- Resolve complex or escalated customer account issues and identify opportunities to improve Accounts Receivable policies, procedures, and operational processes.
- Maintain financial records and reporting, support budget preparation, and assist with testing and implementation of upgrades to billing, collections, and other financial systems.
- Associate degree or 60 college credit hours in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, plus at least 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience; OR at least 4 years of Accounts Receivable experience in lieu of the education requirement.
- Strong working knowledge of Accounts Receivable operations, including billing, payment processing, account reconciliation/maintenance, delinquent accounts, and collection practices.
- Previous experience leading or supervising employees, including assigning work, monitoring performance, coaching team members, and managing day-to-day operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data, resolve complex account issues, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational ability, and proficiency with Office and computerized billing, collections, or financial systems.
