Job Summary:

The Cell Line Development Group is seeking a Scientist I to support the development and characterization of CHO cell lines for GMP applications. The role will involve hands on laboratory work across molecular, cellular, and bioprocess development activities. The scientist will support the generation of optimized CHO cell lines for production of novel biotherapeutics. This position requires strong laboratory execution, data analysis, documentation, and cross functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute CHO cell line development workflows including post transfection selection, high throughput screening, and culture scaling from 96 well plates to shake flasks.
• Perform single cell cloning to generate and establish monoclonal CHO cell lines and support the creation and characterization of master and working cell banks.
• Generate DNA vector constructs for expression of antibodies and novel protein formats.
• Perform genetic and molecular characterization using DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, and Next Generation Sequencing.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments including ViCell, Octet, flow cytometers, ambr15, HPLC, and automated imaging systems.
• Present scientific updates and collaborate with purification, analytical, and formulation development teams.
• Maintain accurate experimental records, data, analysis, and documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks in accordance with data integrity and good documentation practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant scientific experience for Scientist I level.
• Hands on experience with CHO cell line development.
• Hands on experience with flow cytometry.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and cell line characterization.
• Experience with molecular biology techniques including PCR and qPCR.
• Strong laboratory execution, documentation, data analysis, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with single cell cloning and monoclonal cell line generation.
• Experience with cell bank development and characterization.
• Experience with ddPCR or Next Generation Sequencing.
• Experience with DNA vector construction and protein expression systems.
• Experience with ViCell, Octet, ambr15, HPLC, or automated imaging systems.
