Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Class A CDL Driver to join our team in Pageland, SC. This position is responsible for safely operating a commercial tractor-trailer and transporting live poultry from the hatchery to farms and other locations.
This is a hands-on driving position that requires flexibility with very early morning starts, extended shifts, weekends, holidays, and occasional longer or out-of-state trips. The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable working independently, and able to work safely around live poultry and in rural farm environments.
Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a commercial tractor-trailer to transport live poultry.

Load, unload, and properly handle live birds throughout the transportation process.

Monitor and care for poultry while in transit.

Travel primarily on local routes from the Pageland hatchery, with occasional longer or out-of-state trips.

Navigate rural roads and remote farm locations that may be difficult to access.

Interact professionally with customers, farm personnel, and internal teams.

Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Properly secure loads before and during transportation.

Maintain accurate trip, time, weight, equipment, and other required documentation.

Keep the truck and equipment clean and report maintenance or safety concerns.

Follow all DOT, state, federal, and company safety regulations.

Work independently while maintaining communication with the hatchery and transportation team.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Valid Class A CDL.

Minimum 1 year of verifiable, satisfactory commercial driving experience.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Ability to comply with DOT, state, and federal regulations.

Strong safety awareness and professional driving habits.

Reliable, professional, and committed to a strong work ethic.

Strong communication and customer-service skill.

Comfortable driving on rural roads and accessing remote farm locations.

Comfortable working around and handling live poultry.

Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
Schedule & Physical Requirements

Must be comfortable with very early morning starts, approximately 1–3 AM.

Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.

Ability to work approximately 60–80 hours per week.

Ability to climb in and out of a commercial truck regularly.

Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 75 lbs.

Must be comfortable with the physical demands associated with handling live poultry.
