About the Role

We are seeking 4 Truck Driver I professionals to join transportation operations in Pageland, South Carolina.

This is a direct-hire, full-time opportunity responsible for safely operating commercial tractor-trailers to transport live poultry between the Pageland hatchery, farms, and other locations. The role involves team driving, extended trips, early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and physically demanding outdoor work.

The ideal candidate will have a valid Class A CDL, a strong commercial driving record, and the ability to safely handle live poultry while following all DOT, state, federal, and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial tractor-trailer transporting live poultry.

• Work as part of a team-driving operation and ride with another driver when required.

• Load, unload, and physically handle live birds throughout the transportation process.

• Monitor and properly care for live poultry while transporting them.

• Travel from the Pageland hatchery to farms and other locations, including longer-distance trips when needed.

• Navigate rural roads and remote farm locations.

• Interact professionally with customers, farm personnel, and the hatchery team.

• Complete required pre-trip inspections and ensure the vehicle is safe for operation.

• Properly secure loads and follow all transportation procedures.

• Maintain accurate trip, time, weight, equipment, and other required documentation.

• Follow DOT, company, state, and federal safety requirements.

• Maintain and correctly use electronic driver logs.

• Keep trucks and equipment clean and report maintenance issues.

• Work early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts based on business needs.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications / Must-Haves

• Valid Class A CDL.

• Minimum 21 years of age.

• At least 1 year of satisfactory, verifiable commercial driving history.

• Strong commercial driving record with the ability to meet DOT safety requirements.

• Ability to comply with DOT, state, and federal regulations, including e-log requirements.

• Comfortable with team driving and riding with another driver.

• Comfortable working extended trips and long hours.

• Willing and physically able to handle live poultry.

• Ability to load and unload birds and perform physically demanding work.

• Comfortable working outdoors and in rural/farm environments.

Preferred Qualifications / Pluses

• Previous live poultry, livestock, agricultural, farming, hatchery, or animal-handling experience.

• Previous live-haul or commercial tractor-trailer driving experience.

• Strong customer-facing delivery or driving experience.

• Familiarity with rural roads and farm routes.

• Experience working with electronic driver logs and transportation documentation.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a safety-focused Class A CDL driver who is comfortable operating commercial tractor-trailers, working extended hours, and handling live poultry in an agricultural environment.

The candidate should have a strong commercial driving history, understand DOT requirements, and be comfortable with team driving, electronic logs, rural routes, physical loading/unloading, and outdoor work. Previous live-haul, poultry, livestock, or agricultural experience is a strong plus.
