Position Summary:
- We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to join a high-performing Equity Linked Technology team responsible for building innovative pre-trade solutions for Equity Derivatives products.
- The role involves designing and developing scalable microservices, working on low-latency distributed systems, handling large datasets, and contributing to the modernization of a microservice-oriented architecture.
- The successful candidate will work closely with Front Office users, business stakeholders, and senior technology teams to deliver high-quality software solutions in an Agile environment.
- This position offers significant influence over architecture, design decisions, and the future technology roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of the firm's Equity Derivatives technology ecosystem.
- Design, develop, and enhance Python-based server-side applications and services.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and distributed microservices architectures.
- Design scalable and maintainable software solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to future platform design.
- Work collaboratively within Agile/Scrum teams.
- Develop unit, integration, and acceptance tests following Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles.
- Collaborate with QA teams to define and implement acceptance testing strategies.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and improve deployment automation.
- Provide Level III production support and troubleshooting.
- Partner with business users, platform teams, and technology stakeholders.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
Technical Skills:
- Strong Python development experience.
- Expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Experience building REST APIs and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience developing Microservices architectures.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns and system architecture.
- Experience with Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and Acceptance Testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred Experience:
- Equity Derivatives or Capital Markets domain experience.
- Front Office trading systems exposure.
- Low-latency/high-performance application development.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures and containerization.
