Pay Range: $40 to $45 an hour.

Job Summary:
The Cell and Functional Biology team within Biotherapeutics Discovery is seeking a contract Scientist to support high throughput binding and functional assays for antibody characterization.
The role will focus on antibody screening, cell line maintenance, assay execution, data analysis, and workflow optimization.
The scientist will work with automated liquid handling systems to support binding, internalization, and potency characterization.
This position will contribute to standardized screening workflows and assay protocols within a collaborative discovery environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain immortalized mammalian target overexpressing and native target expressing cell lines, with primary cell experience considered beneficial.
• Coordinate sourcing of internal and commercial reagents required for screening assays.
• Execute established high throughput workflows for antibody binding, internalization, and potency characterization using automated liquid handling systems.
• Perform binding, internalization, and reporter assay experiments according to established procedures.
• Analyze flow based assay data to evaluate antibody binding specificity, internalization capability, and potency.
• Develop and standardize screening workflows, assay protocols, and automation procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with internal, external, and cross functional teams to support project and pipeline advancement.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience, or Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Hands on high throughput screening experience with troubleshooting using flow based platforms.
• Strong understanding of screening workflows and assay execution.
• Experience performing mammalian cell culture under SOP and GLP standards.
• Experience with protein protein interaction assays, ELISA, target binding, and functional cellular assays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with primary mammalian cells.
• Experience with automated liquid handling systems and assay automation.
• Experience developing or standardizing automated screening workflows.
