About the Role:

The Histology Analyst II is responsible for proficiently performing and documenting histological testing according to standard operating procedures. This role provides histology support across various departments, including Quality, R&D, Clinical, Complaints, and Tissue Services. The position involves all phases of tissue preparation, such as paraffin and frozen techniques, routine H&E staining, special stains technique, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, and image analysis. The role also includes maintaining and operating histology equipment, document revisions, and training technicians and peers in histological sample handling and analysis. Opportunities for learning advanced techniques and process improvements are also available.

Responsibilities

• Perform final quality checks on products before release by conducting Histology analysis.
• Analyze stain results to determine if false results were induced through the histological process or production process.
• Evaluate R&D, Clinical, donor samples, and control tissue as requested.
• Collaborate with Medical Directors and Scientists on examining various samples.
• Dissect representative samples and determine appropriate stains for histology testing and analysis.
• Conduct Histology testing for QC product release, Clinical cases, donor samples, R&D, and engineering studies.
• Peer review sample preparation steps to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
• Develop knowledge of scientific technologies to improve current techniques.
• Draft and update Standard Operating Procedures as needed.
• Participate in training and development of others and compliance-related activities.
• Prepare reagents and solutions for fixation and stain techniques.
• Operate, maintain, and qualify/validate standard laboratory/histology equipment.
  
  Education Qualification
• A degree in a relevant scientific field is required.

• Proficiency in histological testing and documentation.
• Understanding of gross anatomy and tissue structure.
• Basic knowledge of chemistry and physics as they apply to tissue processing.
• Ability to operate and maintain histology equipment.
• Strong analytical skills to discern results from histological processes.

• Ability to draft and revise standard operating procedures.

Pay Range:- $25/hr to $27/hr
