Job Title: Sr. Electrical Design Engineer IV (ICT Design Engineer)
Location: Remote
Duration: 6+ Months (Contract-to-Hire)
Pay Range: $65-70/hr
Travel: Approximately 2x/year to data center sites

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer IV (ICT Design Engineer) to support the design and delivery of ICT infrastructure for large-scale data center and other mission-critical facilities.

In this role, you’ll work with engineering, MEP, CSA, and construction teams to develop scalable ICT designs covering telecom pathways, spaces, fiber/structured cabling, and equipment layouts. You’ll also be involved in construction administration, field surveys, design reviews, and resolving issues that arise during project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop inside and outside-plant ICT designs, drawings, and construction specifications.

• Design telecom pathways, spaces, fiber/structured cabling, and related infrastructure.

• Coordinate ICT designs with MEP, CSA, engineering, and construction teams.

• Review and approve ICT space, pathway, cabling, and equipment submittals.

• Review and respond to RFIs and construction-related design questions.

• Conduct field surveys and prepare site reports based on existing conditions.

• Work closely with construction teams to identify and resolve design and field issues.

• Research and evaluate new ICT technologies, design approaches, and construction methods.

• Support projects from initial design and development through deployment.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of ICT/Telecommunications design experience in mission-critical environments.

• 5+ years of experience developing design documentation, drawings, and specifications for construction or permitting.

• Strong experience with fiber optic components, structured cabling, interconnect products, and related standards.

• Experience working on data centers or other mission-critical facilities, such as power generation or oil & gas facilities.

• Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.

• BICSI RCDD certification or internationally recognized equivalent such as CDCDP or DCDC.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.

• Knowledge of applicable building codes and regional regulations.

• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.

• Experience carrying design concepts from development through deployment.

• Previous experience working with large enterprise or mission-critical infrastructure projects.

• Experience providing construction administration and field support.
