DATA Center Technician

Location: Varennes, QC or Pointe-Claire, QC (on-site)

Schedule: Shifts scheduled Monday–Friday between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, with possible weekend and night shifts

Collabera is hiring hands-on technicians to support data centre operations in Montreal. You’ll troubleshoot hardware failures, replace server components, resolve connectivity issues and help keep equipment running reliably.

We welcome candidates with experience in computer repair shops, hardware refurbishment, PC assembly, field service or data centres. Previous data centre experience is an asset.

What you’ll do

• Diagnose hardware issues and repair or replace components, including RAM, CPUs, motherboards, hard drives, SSDs and power supplies.

• Replace servers and verify equipment is functioning correctly after repairs.

• Troubleshoot error messages, network connections and cabling issues.

• Install, label and organize cables and assist with equipment in server racks.

• Respond to support tickets and infrastructure events according to established procedures and timelines.

• Complete preventive maintenance and document troubleshooting steps, repairs and outcomes.

• Share updates and knowledge with teammates across shifts.

• Travel between data centre sites within the Montreal region as required.

Must have:

• Approximately 1–3 years of relevant hands-on computer or server hardware experience.

• Experience physically opening equipment, diagnosing component failures and replacing parts.

• Understanding of computer components, basic networking and structured troubleshooting.

• Ability to communicate clearly in French and English, both verbally and in writing.

• Your own vehicle and ability to travel between sites.

• Flexibility for possible weekend, night and rotational shifts.

• Attention to detail, good documentation habits and the ability to follow technical procedures.

• Ability to work independently and ask for support when needed.

Assets

• Previous data centre or server maintenance experience.

• Experience refurbishing computers or building and testing PCs.

• Windows administration; Linux knowledge is a plus.

• Basic scripting or task automation experience.
