Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: St. Paul, MN 55117
Work Type: Onsite
Contract Duration: 12 months Contract with possible extension based on performance and business needs
Job Summary:
- Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and continuously improve manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment.
- The engineer will focus on improving productivity, quality, throughput, process reliability, and operational efficiency while supporting daily production requirements.
- This position will troubleshoot manufacturing processes and equipment, respond to production concerns, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- The role requires close collaboration with manufacturing, production, quality, and other cross functional teams to identify and implement effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and continuously improve manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
- Troubleshoot process, equipment, quality, productivity, and manufacturing issues.
- Respond to production line down situations and address manufacturing concerns.
- Monitor production status and performance for assigned product lines.
- Identify and implement improvements to quality, labor efficiency, throughput, and process reliability.
- Lead improvement projects focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Support CAPA activities and prepare, update, and maintain manufacturing documentation.
- Apply Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual Workplace, SPC, DMAIC, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross functional manufacturing and production teams to resolve issues and improve operational performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Experience with manufacturing process improvement.
- Experience with process and equipment troubleshooting.
- Experience with DMAIC, A3, SPC, Cp Cpk, and Gage R and R.
- Experience with manufacturing documentation and process improvements.
- Ability to work effectively with cross functional manufacturing and production teams.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Power BI.
- Previous electronics manufacturing experience.
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experience with tooling and fixture development or improvement.
