Job Title : Real Estate Finance Associate
Duration : Full time Opportunity
Location : Charlotte, NC
Pay Range : $300,000 - $310,000 per annum
MUST HAVES
- At least 4 years of experience as a real estate finance attorney
- Significant experience representing institutional lenders, investment banks, or CMBS platforms
- Experience with origination of CMBS and/or CLO loans across commercial real estate asset classes
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating loan documents, including loan agreements, notes, mortgages/deeds of trust, guarantees, and ancillary documents
- Familiarity with CMBS securitization requirements, including rating agency criteria, ground leases, cash management, and structural features
- North Carolina Bar License or ability to waive into North Carolina
DAY TO DAY
- Draft, review, and negotiate real estate finance loan documents
- Conduct and oversee due diligence, including zoning reports, leases, organizational documents, and third-party reports
- Structure transactions to comply with CMBS securitization requirements
- Coordinate with originators, underwriters, and securitization counsel
- Advise clients on structural and legal issues affecting securitization eligibility and marketability
- Coordinate closings and manage transaction timelines
- Interact with clients, borrower’s counsel, and third-party service providers
- Support post-closing matters and prepare for loan reviews in anticipation of securitization
- Work in a high-performance, collaborative real estate practice environment

- Experience across multiple commercial real estate asset classes, including office, retail, multifamily, hospitality, and industrial
- Strong academic background with excellent writing skills and attention to detail
- Experience coordinating complex closings and post-closing/securitization matters
